The Early Years

I have lived most of my life on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. I was born in Victoria but spent my primary school years here. My high school days were in Sydney (Port Hacking High School in Miranda) and from there I gradually moved further out into country areas. I enjoyed the solitude of living on acres and surrounding myself with animals. My house, at the time, is featured as one of the illustrations in Woolly Jumpers – Emma Quay used one of my photos.
I was born in Victoria, in a place called Traralgon, in 1946. We lived here until we moved to Bairnsdale in about 1950 so my first years of school were in Bairnsdale.

Here is a photo of my mum, mysister, Anne, my brother, Jim and me. My dad was there behind the camera.
